Virtue of Companions
It was narrated from Hazrat Anas that two of the Companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, Ibad bin Basheer, and the other I believe to be Asayd bin Hudair, left the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in the dark night. Two lamps (of light) were giving light in front of the young man. When they separated from each other, one lamp was left with each of them, which stayed with them until home.
On the authority of Hazrat Abu Saeed Al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) delivered the sermon and said, “Allah has given a servant the choice whether he lives in this world or whether he chooses what is with Allah.
has Hearing this, Abu Bakr wept. I said in my heart, “Why is this old man crying?” Later I came to know that the servant meant the Holy Prophet himself and Abu Bakr was the most knowledgeable of all of us. If I were to call anyone among the people of my Ummah my best friend, I would call Abu Bakr my best friend. However, Islam has brotherhood and friendship. Look, whose door should not be open in the mosque and should be closed, except Abu Bakr’s door.
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, during his illness in which he died, came out with a cloth tied around his head, then sitting on the pulpit, he spoke the praises of Allah and praised Him.
I have no more in life and property than Abu Bakr bin Abi Qahafa RA and if I make someone a personal friend (personal friendship cannot be done by the will of Allah), but the friendship of Islam is (what is less) very good. Look, close all the windows in this mosque and let Abu Bakr’s window remain.
It is narrated from Hazrat Hakeem bin Hizam (RA) that I asked the Prophet (PBUH) for (a few rupees). He (peace be upon him) gave, then he asked, then he gave, then he said, Hakim, this (worldly wealth) is green, full (in appearance), very sweet, but whoever keeps his soul generous, then he will be blessed.
And whoever harbors greed in his life, he will not be blessed, his situation will be like that of a person who eats and is not satisfied, and the hand that gives is better than the hand that takes. Allah ﷺ! By Him who sent you with the truth. I will not take anything from anyone after you till I die. (Hakim remained on the same opinion) Hadhrat Abu Bakr Siddique called Hakeem in his caliphate to give him his usual share, he would not have taken it.
Then Hazrat Umar also called him in his caliphate to give him his share, but he refused to take it. What did Finally, Hazrat Umar said to the people, “Be a witness, Muslims!” I am giving Hakeem his share of the country’s income, but he is refusing to take it. Gharz Hakim did not accept anything from anyone after the Holy Prophet until he died.
On the authority of Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) that the Prophet (PBUH) said, “Whoever spends a pair (two rupees or two clothes or other things) in the way of Allah, he (the angels) will be called from the gates of Paradise.” O servant of God, this door is good.
Then whoever is a Mujahid will be called from the gate of Jihad. Whoever is going to give Zakat will be called from the gate of Zakat. Hazrat Abu Bakr heard this and said, “My parents, give charity to you, O Messenger of Allah, if someone is called from one of these doors, there is no problem, but there will be a young man who will be called from all the doors.” He said: Yes, there will be such people and I hope you will be among them.
صحابہ کی فضیلت
حضرت انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے دو صحابہ کرام عباد بن بشیر اور دوسرے کو میں اسید بن حُضیر رضی اللہ عنہ کے حضور سے رخصت ہو گیا۔ اس پر) اندھیری رات میں۔ نوجوان کے سامنے (روشنی کے) دو چراغ روشنی دے رہے تھے۔ جب وہ ایک دوسرے سے جدا ہوئے تو ان میں سے ہر ایک کے پاس ایک ایک چراغ رہ گیا جو گھر تک ان کے ساتھ رہا۔
حضرت ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے خطبہ دیا اور فرمایا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے بندے کو اختیار دیا ہے کہ وہ اس دنیا میں رہے یا نہیں۔ یا جو اللہ کے پاس ہے اسے وہ چن لے۔ یہ سن کر حضرت ابوبکرؓ رو پڑے۔ میں نے دل میں کہا یہ بوڑھا کیوں رو رہا ہے؟ بعد میں مجھے معلوم ہوا کہ خادم سے مراد خود حضور صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تھے اور ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ ہم سب سے زیادہ علم والے تھے۔
اگر میں اپنی امت میں سے کسی کو اپنا بہترین دوست کہوں تو ابوبکر کو اپنا سب سے اچھا دوست کہوں گا۔ حالانکہ اسلام میں بھائی چارہ اور دوستی ہے۔ دیکھو ابوبکر کے دروازے کے علاوہ مسجد میں کس کا دروازہ کھلا نہیں اور بند ہونا چاہیے۔
حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اپنی بیماری کے دوران جس میں آپ کا انتقال ہوا، سر پر کپڑا باندھ کر باہر نکلے۔ منبر پر بیٹھ کر اللہ کی حمد و ثنا بیان کی۔ میرا جان و مال میں ابوبکر بن ابی قحافہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے بڑھ کر کوئی نہیں اور اگر میں کسی کو ذاتی دوست بناؤں (ذاتی دوستی اللہ کی مرضی سے نہیں ہو سکتی) لیکن اسلام کی دوستی (کم ہے) بہت اچھی ہے۔ دیکھو اس مسجد کی تمام کھڑکیاں بند کردو اور ابوبکر کی کھڑکی باقی رہنے دو
حضرت حکیم بن حزام رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے (چند روپے) مانگے۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے دیا، پھر پوچھا، پھر دیا، پھر فرمایا، حکیم، یہ (دنیا کا مال) ہریالی ہے، بھری ہوئی ہے، بہت پیاری ہے، لیکن جو شخص اپنے نفس کو سخی رکھے گا، تو وہ اس کو عطا کرے گا۔ تم پر اللہ کی رحمت ہو. اور جو شخص اپنی زندگی میں حرص کو پالے گا اسے برکت نہیں ملے گی، اس کا حال اس شخص جیسا ہو گا جو کھاتا ہے اور سیر نہیں ہوتا، اور دینے والا ہاتھ لینے والے ہاتھ سے بہتر ہے۔
اللہ تعالیٰ! اس کی قسم جس نے آپ کو حق کے ساتھ بھیجا ہے۔ میں مرتے دم تک تمہارے بعد کسی سے کچھ نہیں لوں گا۔ (حکیم اسی رائے پر قائم رہے) حضرت ابوبکر صدیقؓ نے اپنی خلافت میں حکیم کو اس کا حسب معمول حصہ بلایا تو وہ نہ لیتے۔ پھر حضرت عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے انہیں بھی اپنی خلافت میں بلایا کہ وہ ان کو اپنا حصہ دیں لیکن انہوں نے لینے سے انکار کر دیا۔ آخر کیا کیا، حضرت عمر نے لوگوں سے کہا کہ مسلمانو گواہ رہو! میں حکیم کو ملکی آمدنی میں سے اس کا حصہ دے رہا ہوں لیکن وہ لینے سے انکار کر رہا ہے۔ غرز حکیم نے حضور کے بعد کسی سے کوئی چیز قبول نہیں کی یہاں تک کہ آپ کی وفات ہو گئی۔
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جس نے اللہ کی راہ میں ایک جوڑا (دو روپے یا دو کپڑے یا کوئی اور چیز) خرچ کی تو اسے (فرشتے) دروازے سے بلائے جائیں گے۔ جنت کا۔” خدا کے بندے یہ دروازہ اچھا ہے۔ پھر جو مجاہد ہوگا اسے جہاد کے دروازے سے بلایا جائے گا۔ جو زکوٰۃ دینے والا ہو اسے زکوٰۃ کے دروازے سے بلایا جائے گا۔ حضرت ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے یہ سن کر کہا کہ میرے والدین آپ صدقہ کریں یا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ان دروازوں میں سے کسی ایک کو پکارا جائے تو کوئی حرج نہیں لیکن ایک نوجوان ایسا ہو گا جسے سب سے پکارا جائے گا۔ دروازے.” اس نے کہا: ہاں ایسے لوگ ہوں گے اور مجھے امید ہے کہ تم ان میں سے ہو گے۔
