Qari Waheed Zafar Qasmi participated in many international recitation competitions at a very young age and won top honors. At present, he is considered one of the most important teachers of the art of naat-khwani in Pakistan. They have a deep grasp on the ups and downs of the tone.
In 1972, he recited the famous Naat Zahe Muqdar Huzur-i-Haq se Salam Aya, Payam Aya, which was immensely popular. On August 14, 1984, the Government of Pakistan awarded him the Presidential Medal of Merit. He is residing in Karachi.

1972 میں انہوں نے مشہور نعت ظہ مقدر حضورِ حق سے سلام آیا، پیام آیا، جو بے حد مقبول ہوئی۔ 14 اگست 1984 کو حکومت پاکستان نے انہیں صدارتی تمغہ برائے حسن کارکردگی سے نوازا۔ وہ کراچی میں مقیم ہیں۔
